News: Season 4 started today, a quick reminder about rating requirement…
June 24th, 2008 by Ziss · No Comments »

Season 4 Arena Gear:

Shoulders: 2200
Weapon: 2050
Head: 1700
Chest: 1600
Legs: 1550
Gloves: None
Offhand: None

Season 4 Honor Gear:

Boots: 1700
Ring: 1650
Bracers: 1575
Belt: None
Neck: None
Trinket: None

Old Season 3 Arena Gear:

Shoulders: 1950
Weapons: 1800

Reason for the Changes:
The changes to the rating requirements for these items reflect the nature of the items, their power, and the relative difficulty that should be had when attempting to obtain them. These items are comparable to those found in the newest 25 person raid zone, Sunwell Plateau, and should therefore also feel very challenging to obtain.

News: Season 4 Announcement!
June 10th, 2008 by Protein · No Comments »

Well it looks like after my post blizz got on the ball and announced Season 4.

We’re currently planning to end the third Arena season and begin Arena Season 4 on June 24, 2008. This exciting Arena season will introduce the Brutal Gladiator set, and will also allow players to purchase Arena Season 2 items using the honor system. Please note that we will be resetting all Arena team and personal ratings. Players will still retain their Arena points and teams with this reset. The team and personal rating will simply be reset to the default 1500, allowing all teams to once again compete for top honors with a fresh start.

Also, with the end of the third season, players on the top teams from each battlegroup will receive their end-of-season rewards. These include Arena-specific titles that they can display proudly until the end of the new season, and, for the best of the best, an Armored Nether Drake. Please also be aware that with the end of the current season, all previous end-of-season titles will be removed.

News: Reasoning Behind S4 Delay
June 8th, 2008 by Protein · 2 Comments

Finally a reason behind the Season 4 delay has be announced which could be a good thing and a bad thing.

The seasons match PvE progression.

The final door in Sunwell Plateau just opened up on May 20th. We want that gear to begin circulating a bit before the next season starts. That’s how every season works, we wait until a reasonable number of people are able to grab gear from the highest raid before kicking off a season.

How much and when, we’re not saying yet.

Seeing as a few guild have already killed KJ, and one lucky hunter who got the world’s first Legendary Bow. Season 4 could still be quite a ways away. S3 didn’t start till a considerable amount of guild cleared BT/Hyjal, and seeing as the gates have been open for a short amount of time. I predict another month or so before we see more Season 4 Announcements.

I would love to see Blizzard to start taking action for their slow progression and stop blaming it on other things like PvE progress. Sure some people love to use PvE gear in PvP, but most of it won’t come from the biggest boss, mostly bracers/boots/belt and a few rings are used, which all of that stuff comes from the first bosses. PvE guilds and arenas seasons have till WOTLK, no new content will be added and it will stop with S4 and The Sunwell. Everyone has plenty of time to still play with PvE gear even if their guild is just starting BT. A lot of WoW users are either quitting WoW because of slow updates or are changing classes to which they feel blizzard favors more. It would be nice to get blizzard to actually put dates on the seasons, they were just suppose to last for like 4-5 months, not 6+. This isn’t how the pvp community should be treated when we pay 15$/month to play the same season for months at a time.
