A fresh start; changes are coming

Wrath of the Lich King is just around the corner, and with this exciting new expansion, comes an exciting new environment for pvp as well. Today is the release of patch 3.0, and it will change the pvp scene we have all experienced over the passed two years. All of the FOTM lineups such as 2.5, RMP, Druid/Warrior, will most likely become much less effective in the weeks to come. We will most likely see new lineups emerge from no where, with new specs such as Retribution, Enhancement, Feral. We will also experience a new class addition in Deathknight come the expansion release. Change always has its good and bad sides, however, these changes are most likely for the better in the long run. It will give a chance to those who want a fresh start with the pvp scene, and as far as I am concerned, everyone is on a level playing field starting today.
With the exciting new changes here and more to come, pvpsource is also proud to present a fresh new start with Wrath of the Lich King. We will look to upkeep much more effective and bring back our old content many of you enjoyed, along with new content soon to be announced. A new look is just around the corner, so please, sit tight, and be ready for a great informative site to help all level of players in this new expansion, as we know we are ready to deliver it.
(I do apologize for the lack of well, any updates what-so-ever on the site and thank you to those continuously visiting us!)

This is where things get interesting

Hey everyone, my name is Ryan, but you can call me Ross. I’m new around these parts, and I am still getting the hang of professional blogging, but things seem to be going well so far. Hopefully you will see quite a lot of me posting around here, I hope to stick around for a while. I am an aspiring professional gamer, mostly playing WoW for the moment but I also play other games, RTS being my other favorite genre. For now though, enough about me, lets focus on a little WoW.
With the ATR, the S2 gear, and obviously the access to PvE gear, things on the ATR can get really interesting. Fights vary from being just the same comps over and over again, and (in my experience) the different styles of players really makes you think on your feet. Recently, we have been playing many different comps. From Feral Druid/UA Lock/Disc Priest to DLR and Pally/Rogue/Warrior, we get to see a wide range of play. Experiencing the different classes for yourself and seeing what their weaknesses are, is a very interesting experience. There has been PTRs in the past where we were able to do some arenas, but it was never the competitive play that it is now. Playing a Warlock and a Pally to competitive levels really opens your eyes to different comps weaknesses and strengths.
Currently we are rolling the Pally/Rogue/Warrior with a high rate of success. We like to think that we can bring this pretty far, but their are some weaknesses with a pally healer. Sure BoP and Freedom are both really nice, but when you come up against teams with a Druid and a Lock (which are a very large part of the comps on the TR) things get very difficult. It is hard to burst down a good Druid, and with a Lock fearing you… things can get very messy, very fast. We do manage to kill the Druid most of the time, however if he manages to survive, things become a hassle.
Being alliance and having the access to all the PvE gear does help our team tremendously, and with the beginning of the tournament starting soon, we hope to see some really fun games. Hopefully we see more people innovating, and making teams like our 2000+ Feral Druid/UA Lock/Disc Priest team, people who can break out of the box and compete with something that no one thought was possible. Look forward to more posts from me in the future, and have fun on the ATR!

Hazek and Sac Join Up with PvP Source
March 26th, 2008 by Ziss ·

Finally, the new faces I have promised, Hazek and Sac. Hazek has mastered the marksmanship of a Hunter while Sac practices the art of Druid at the highest level. Both of them are very excited to join us and will bring you PvP essence from deep inside the core of the upcoming 3v3 tournament! Without further delay, here are some words from themselves.
Hazek:
Whats up, this is Hazek. I’m 23 years old and I live in Texas. I did the high warlord grind and used to throw traps at people while in combat at level 60. I earned gladiator in season 1. I’m addicted to pvp. Heres Sac with the weather.
Sac:
Well met, PVPsource readers! This is Sean Aaron Carriveau, a new writer here, but you can call me Sac. Yes, my initials… Quite a bit of time has passed now since the beginning of Arena and it seems we are at standstill, or not much of anything new is happening. Players are dodging queues, better people are losing interest, doesn’t matter what I say, you name it. Well, fortunately Blizzard has done something great, and I’m sure you know what it is! You’re right (or for those of you new people you’re wrong, but no worries I’m here to help), it’s the 3v3 Blizzard Tournament. Now I believe this is a huge step to make arena more exciting, but also to help with World of Warcraft as an e-sport.
Now here is where I come in and what I will be doing. My team, Brutal Banzai Bonanzas, will be giving you all the action up front. What does that mean? It means a lot. Fortunately, we are a pretty good team and we plan on doing well in the tournament. And that means an insane amount of information at a top level for us to give to you. You can almost think of us as a reporter on the sidelines of a basketball game waiting for halftime to speak with the star player and give you, in a sense, inside information. Our coverage on the arena tournament will mostly be about us, our 3v3 team, but we will also be giving the good side of the sport in general at that high level. PVPsources plans for us include commentary on clips from our matches to help some people out with exactly what happens. Not necessarily strategies, which we charge 1000g for each strat or $50 paypal(wink wink, who wouldn’t try making money on a video game?), but we will be showing you key moments in fights to why we either win, or lose.
Keep a lookout for us when the tournament starts. We will soon be working on fraps and clips to give you readers some enjoyment along with the walls of text.
Here’s a little preview clip of what we got in store (I wish people would stop using clips of me getting beat up tho…):
