News: Patch 2.3.3 Live
January 22nd, 2008 by Magog · No Comments »

I’m sure you guys are all know what it means when your updater fires up on Tuesday… a new patch. This week it’s the very minor 2.3.3 with no PvP related changes. Most notable item in this patch? Blizzard borging the Windows Media Player fix — and that it clears the way for 2.4 and yet more promised class tweaks.

Link to the very short list of notes.

News: EU got busy while NA slept
January 22nd, 2008 by Yuukie · 5 Comments

eu selectedUpdate: You can download the fraps that were just released featuring Avada Kedavra vs Nagas from Avada’s Priest’s PoV from here: http://www.sk-gaming.com/file/5939

Last week, the European guild/arena team Knockout has migrated to Stormscale, Cyclone Battlegroup. With the help from SK Gaming, they hosted an invitational 5v5 arena tournament that not many from NA realms knew about (Maybe it’s because no prize was mentioned for the tournament?). But with the announcement of this tournament, Cyclone will definitely become the new BG9 (Bloodlust - US) for Europeans. Especially with all the top teams transferring over to seek new PvP challenges.

News: Battlemasters to Get Some Elbow Room; BlizzCast Q&A Info
January 18th, 2008 by Magog · No Comments »

Just a couple of PvP-related news for the weekend…

For those of you who haven’t figured out how to turn on NPC nameplates (Ctrl-V), you’re in luck:

“In 2.4, the Battlemasters are standing on platforms with collision around them.

We’re also working on a better solution for Wrath of the Lich King.” -Tigole

And, although the first BlizzCast wasn’t exactly what we expected, Blizzard is now taking questions submitted by fans for future episodes — which they promise will be a regular thing. Here’s the info from blue if you want to get involved:

“We’re hoping to devote some time to answering fan-submitted questions in future episodes of BlizzCast, and we want yours. It can be anything related to Blizzard, the company, our games, or the talented people that work here. If you have a burning question you want answered and want to get it to us, please send an email with the subject line “WoW Q&A” to the email address BlizzCast@Blizzard.com.

While we won’t be able to get to every one of them, we want to keep you updated on the game and the aspects that are most important to you.

Thanks for your help and be sure to tune into future BlizzCasts to see if your question was answered!” -Bornakk

News: And the Blue Trickles In…
January 16th, 2008 by Magog · 1 Comment »

It’s not just us, but everyone is starting to get restless with the lack of new news:

Neth: It’s been 2 weeks! The holidays are over. The fun has settled. Everyone has been back to work for two weeks now! You said we’d get more 2.4 info/WoTLK info soon…

“The Blizzcast is now out and we are working on compiling information on the Under Development for patch 2.4 to give everyone updates. It takes some time to do, but we will be updating before long. I’m sure what everyone is really waiting for are the actual patch notes, but you’ll have to wait for those to hit the test realm.” -Nethaera

And

When does Season 4 begin?

“We haven’t said as of yet, so no one will be able to answer this for you. Sorry.” -Nethaera

And believe me, the pickings are even more slim when you have to grep the blue posts for “PvP”, “arena” and PvP-related class changes. And the Blizzcast? As soon as the Blizzcast was posted, I searched for those terms in the transcript. When it came up empty, I didn’t even bother with it. I suppose it was silly of us to actually expect some new information from it.
