Druid tips of the day from Hafu

The following is a compilation of useful Druid tips on our Forums, brought to you by Hafu.
Please note that these are strategies that I use - keep in mind that my gear and my partner’s gear is optimal.
Warlock & Paladin: Honestly, I haven’t faced this combo since the patch, but before we only had trouble if they used a Voidwalker. (If they use a Felhunter, kill it. If that proves difficult, sunder the pet twice and then kill it ;p) This is a mana fight more than anything. Do what you can to drink as much as you can by having your Warrior slow the pet. Usually when I try to interrupt heals, I make sure I’m above 70% mana. Read More

2v2 Arena: Rogue & Shaman, Part 1???

Patch 2.3 has been out for a week now, and players have seen the impact certain changes are making in the Arena scene. From Hunter changes of Aim Shot and Arcane Shot, to the hemo change for Rogues (which has raised a lot of controversy among many). There was one big change I know I was looking forward to however, and I am sure many other healers were, the addition of spell damage to healing gear. Theories were brought up of how much of an effect it actually would have in arena play, ranging from “it wouldn’t be great at all because without the spell damage talents it won’t matter”, to “classes such as Shamans could spec Elemental and just wear Restoration gear”. This weekend however, I put the theories to test, playing a restoration Shaman in a 2v2 makeup paired with a Rogue. Pre 2.3 this lineup was not popular for several reasons, however now I have experienced several scenarios to take advantage of the patch changes. Read More

Winning Arena Formula, just add Hunter?

Greetings, folks. This is the PvPSource debut of Treisk, 70 Troll Hunter @ Illidan. Since most of you don’t know me by name (yet), I decided to throw out an introduction as to who I am before making a post where I come off knowing what I’m talking about. Since most players aren’t savants of the Hunter class, you wouldn’t know if I was right or not without a bit of background information, so let’s get started.
My WoW-Journalistic debut was earlier this year with Minti/Dahis’s Shadow-Gaming. Some of you might know my name from there, or from seeing me around on the WoW Hunter forums, campaigning for Hunter buffs/fixes/whathaveyou. A good portion of the Hunter community has come together this year in support of my series of threads on Hunter issues in Arenas, which, to date, has received over 4000 replies between the Official General, Suggestion, and Hunter forums.
A lot of the Hunter community, in that sense, will vouch for me being a strong voice of the Hunter community, especially after reviewing my resume. Having broken 2300+ in all three brackets as a Hunter isn’t something to scoff at in their Season 2 state. That said; let’s move on to our topic.
Hunters in 2.3 - You’ve read the patch notes. You’ve fought them in BG’s. You’ve probably been really frustrated by them… And you’ve probably taken hundreds of points from them… Read More

Warlocks and 4 DPS

I am Gumbot. I transferred to BG9 week 1 of season 2 to get away from my bad Battlegroup and onto the most revered one. I did this specifically to run a 4 DPS 5v5, uniting some of the best players from our previous Battlegroup. We were running Spriest/Mage/UA-Lock/Pally/Ele-Sham. Throughout Season 2, The Fallen Angels has maintained a top 5 slot varying from 1st to 5th and has always kept themselves as one of the highest 4 DPS teams in the world. Recently the The Fallen Angels has stopped queuing simply because most of the team got bored with WoW and now play DOTA instead (sigh… although I do admit DOTA takes just about as much micro as wow sometimes).
The strength of 4 DPS is locking down their Warrior, causing all players to play defensively… Read More

Patch 2.3: A Spot for the Underdogs? Part 2

Paladin (Retribution)
Holy, Holy, Holy. If you play a Paladin, you know the criticism you go through from others on telling you to be Holy or get out. Well, although it may be annoying and not right for someone else to tell you how to have fun with the game, there is truth to why a Paladin almost has to play Holy to be effective at all in Arena. There are several reasons, most of them obvious, but key factors consist that they are melee without an MS debuff and the Arena gear currently for Ret Paladins does not have any Resilience on them. With that said, there are upcoming buffs in the 2.3 patch that may give Retribution Paladins a shining hope come Arena PvP. The first big change deals with Seals activated from the Paladin. Read More
