September 27th, 2007 by Szletica · 12 Comments

PaladinAlthough, many players may believe that the Paladin class is a powerhouse in terms of raw healing and efficiency (which, I completely agree upon), Arena certainly does put a spin on this — having both its positives and negatives. As a Paladin myself, I do recognize the potential of this class in Arena; but, at the same time, realize it’s not going to be the definitive, best healer in the game.

Other healer classes, such as priests and druids, are able to provide other forms of support (Cyclone, Manaburn, heals over time… etc), which Paladins, obviously, cannot. Does this mean that the Paladin class is at a disadvantage in Arena to these other healers? Not necessarily. Paladins are a very versatile class with skills and tricks, just as notable as other healers are. Read More

Starting off with Soul-linked Warlock and Druid, this 2v2 combo brings fear to many teams. First of all it is nearly impossible to outlast them. With the Warlock being the only spell caster with unlimited mana, and Druid the most mobile of the healers, they definitely benefit from many aspects of the arena game. With a pet on Warlock’s side, they can easily prevent most healers from going out of combat and drinking. To make things simple, we can summarize the goal of this 2v2 lineup is to outlasting their opponents to victory. It would seem as all odds are stacked in their favorite. Read More

Article: 2v2 Arena: Rogue & Holy Priest Explained, Part 2

I apologize again for the long downtime. As things settle down for me, I’ll have more time to write articles. I also have a large inventory of good Arena matches which I want to add in commentary as soon as I can.

To pick up where we left off in part 1 of this, we stumbled across the fact that Rogues are quite versatile in their Spec choices. I want to touch up again on why Mutilate was cut out as a 2v2 Arena choice. First off, the Positional requirement is very painful against Warriors and other Rogues. Considering how hard it is to kill a Shaman, Paladin or Druid when a Warrior is on you. Being a Spec without Preparation, your only choice would be to turn on the Warrior once the kiting begins. If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
