News: Blue: 2.4 Update and Honor Gear Info for S4; Korea WoW PVP Celebrity i
January 30th, 2008 by Magog ·

As we continue to wait for new info about concerning 2.4 and class changes (it’s been a month, but who’s counting?), Nethaera has this to say:

“I think people would get tired of hearing “not today” and start asking “when?” Then I’d have to answer with “soon” and it would just go on from there.

Things are in the works, the cogs are moving, and we’ll get there” -Nethaera

Honor Gear and Season 4
Regarding arena gear purchasable with honor… when asked what will happen with Season 4, Drysc confirms that the S2 set will me moved to the honor vendor and the S1 set will be bumped off. Sniff, I’m gonna miss seeing those S1 shoulders around — especially when they were insanely huge on orcs.

Korea WoW PVP Celebrity invitational
And as reported by several Asian blogs and WoM stateside, Korea is getting into the tournament act by hosting it’s own tournament dubbed the “Korea WoW PVP Celebrity Invitational”. The tournament attempted to invite all the big pvp celebrity from across the servers for a 1v1 tournament. Recognized names like Drakedog and Clazzi were there but they didn’t fare well, neither getting past the second round.

The big catch that got away was the attempt to import Vurtne. Even with Blizzard KOR recreating his mage 99%, Vurtne was unable to get past his high ping to the Korean server and declined.

Here is the bracket and a link to the videos:

I dont understand why people want more and more seasons and changes, yes they are needed but enjoy the season now.

also the welfair epics are just so sad now. they really need to nerf them after they are moved to honor peaces, some one afk’s and in a week can get 400 resi.

  2. Altherac Says:

People won’t stop afk boting in bg’s juste because you nerf arena rewards when moved to honor pricing.

Either you nerf them hard, and really piss people off because the ticket to arenas will be very high. Either you don’t nerf them enough and people will keep afk’ing.

There are other ways of making afk’ing in bg pointless. And as far as I know, it has never been so low on my battlegroup since reporting and stripping have been added.

i just got done getting 4 pieces of s1 gear and i’ll get the s2 stuff

ive gotten tons better in bg, keybinds ,strats and whatnot

ya i still feel like scrub, but it still fun to kill a pve cliker in epix

and no matter how many bg’s i do, i still fall for the /afk off

someone had an emote saying “you have just been tagged for afk, please type /afk off to take the tag off”

sure it was 4am and it was much more professional, but hey, im just glad they cant port me anymore

  4. Ziss Says:

Rogues didn’t do too well in 1v1, surprisingly.

  5. Silenthand Says:

Ofcourse rogues didnt do well, one got paired v a warrior, the other got paired v a shaman, they were never really going to win unless they really outskilled the others. And as each is the top of his field, its unlikely they were going to.

  6. Ziss Says:

I can understand resto shaman coming on top of Rogues with the nerf to AR/Prep, but I don’t agree equal skilled warrior should win it for free.

  7. the ish Says:

watching a rogue try to eek every single minute bit of damage he can while takign as little damage as possible from the warrior is humorous in 1v1, the warrior typically just sword&boards and stands still spamming shit.

  8. Zure Says:

That rogue was horrible versus the warrior. No prep rogue worth his salt should lose to a warrior that doesn’t resort to PvE tanking gear cheese.

Can anyone explain how they determined winners in some of these fights? Specifically those with healers where there seemed to be no victor.

  9. Thomas Says:

There is obviously a lot to know about this. I think you made some good points in Features also.
