EU got busy while NA slept
January 22nd, 2008 by Yuukie ·
Update: You can download the fraps that were just released featuring Avada Kedavra vs Nagas from Avada’s Priest’s PoV from here: http://www.sk-gaming.com/file/5939
Last week, the European guild/arena team Knockout has migrated to Stormscale, Cyclone Battlegroup. With the help from SK Gaming, they hosted an invitational 5v5 arena tournament that not many from NA realms knew about (Maybe it’s because no prize was mentioned for the tournament?). But with the announcement of this tournament, Cyclone will definitely become the new BG9 (Bloodlust - US) for Europeans. Especially with all the top teams transferring over to seek new PvP challenges.
Eight different teams, of which three of them being the top teams from other Battlegroups were invited to play in this tournament. (Transfer fees may apply but not covered by Knockout)
Nihilum Arena - Stormscale
Setup: Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest Paladin (Shaman)
No, no they are not ‘THE’ Nihilum, those guys were Horde, these, are Alliance! But they are still top players though. Until couple days ago, they had a brilliant 2346 rating.
I Ar Tanker - Ravencrest
Setup: Warrior Warlock Mage Priest Paladin
Currently ranked 7th in Cyclone.
Dont Hate The Player - Stormscale
Setup: Rogue Mage Warlock Priest Druid
Ranked 8th in Cyclone.
Naughty America - Stormscale
Setup: Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest Paladin
First in Reckoning Battlegroup last season, migrated over to Cyclone as well.
Nagas - Stormscale
Setup: Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest Paladin (Shaman)
Currently rank 2nd on the ladder, always been a top contender
and been dominating the ladder for a long time.
Avada Kevara - Stormscale
Setup: Rogue Warlock Mage Priest Druid
They, along with Dont Hate the Player are also running the interesting 3dps team with a Rogue and Priest, Druid as healers.
Knockout - Stormscale
Setup: Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest Paladin
They dominated bg1 and now are rank 3rd on Cyclone.
MovieLOL - Stormscale
Setup: Warrior Warlock Shaman Priest Paladin (Athene!? o_O)
They kept their first through out the whole Season 2 until Naughty America took it from them the very last day. Even though they just transferred over to Cyclone few days ago, they are already sitting on a 2100+ rating.
The originally scheduled first round of the winner bracket were going to be:
Nihilum vs I AR TANKER
Dont hate the player vs Naughty America
Nagas vs Avada Kevavra
Knockout vs movieLOL
However,by the first round of the Cyclone Tour, the tournament had a ton of team changes due to roster and transferring problems.
MovieLOL was replaced by Chicken Fried Rice, who runs a classic CLC/Knockout setup - Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest and Paladin. Naughty America, who was scheduled to play against Knockout ended up disbanding when their Hunter Cherekee joined up NIhilum and Warlock Voldemort joined Avada Kedavra. Dont hate the player also disbanded just prior to the tournament, their Druid is now playing with ShowTimed, a previous top team from Blackout. With all these changes the winner bracket now look like:
Nihilum vs I AR TANKER — 3-0
ShowTimed vs Are you gonna eat that — 1-0 (Forfeit)
Nagas vs Avada Kedavra — 1-3
Knockout vs CHICKEN FRIED RICE — 2-3
The semi finals of the winner bracket were played earlier today.
With a scheduled roster of:
WB Semi-Finals (Deadline 23th January)
Nihilum vs ShowTimed
Avada Kedavra vs CHICKEN FRIED RICE
What was going to be interesting was both semi finals consisted of Rogue Mage Warlock Priest Druid teams against Warrior Hunter Warlock Priest and Paladin. Nihilum requested to use a Druid who wasn’t listed on their original roster to counter ShowTimed. ShowTimed was kind enough to agree on the change, well, partly also because this was the only night they were able to play.
But I doubt other teams will also be as generous about the change when it’s their turn, especially after seeing the results of 3-1, Nihilum.
Nihilum: Warrior, Hunter, Priest, Druid, Paladin - 3
ShowTimed: Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Priest, Druid - 1
Second match was played between Avada Kedavra and Chicken Fried Rice. Avada Kedavra’s 3 DPS with Rogue proved themselves when they came out with a 3-1 victory.
Avada Kedavra: Rogue, Mage, Warlock, Priest, Druid – 3
CHICKEN FRIED RICE: Warrior, Hunter, Warlock, Priest, Paladin - 1
No time or date has been set yet for the loser bracket matches between:
I AR TANKER vs Are you gonna eat that (Winner will face Chicken Fried Rice)
Knockout vs Nagas (Winner will face ShowTimed)

I do not agree on the BG9 thing.
Contrary to NA, Europe does not share the same language. You will see in Cyclone most English/Skandinavian. You won’t much people from south europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, France and so), central or eastern europe.

is there anything on this website that isnt copied from somewhere else?
some original articles would be nice. and if they were closer than 6 weeks apart that would be awesome too.

I’m sure if you wrote a quality article or two yourself that they wouldn’t be afraid to post them, Mr. Get Original.

You can’t blame him, considering 90% of that article was copy pasted from the link.
Not sure why he called the link “details” when he pasted the whole thing. >

It’s worth mentioning on how awesome this website is. To be honest this is the specific site I have been looking for. I found a great website just earlier today; FREE-NAUGHTY-AMERICA.COM It’s safe and the guys that run the site are trustworthy. Take a few surveys and they will buy you your own Naughty America account good for 12 months. I hate to post here about that site but it is a useful resource. I have certainly bookmarked this site for later! -Stephen

Thank you for posting this piece. I’m undeniably frustrated with struggling to search out relevant and brilliant commentary on this subject. Everybody now goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not in truth understand the situation. Many thank you for your succinct, applicable insight.
