Hemo Changes Cus Its Popular?; Sit Exploits
December 13th, 2007 by Magog ·
A simple question by a random alt on the Rogue forums, leads to a flurry of posts by Eyonix further explaining their rationale behind the Hemorrhage changes. The question and title is full of win:
I heard bliz have changed hemo cus to many rogues were getting it?? this makes no sense to me can sone explain if this is or is not true??
1) To clarify we don’t simply make changes to an ability because it becomes popular. The changes done to hemorrhage (lowering its damage) is being done because we never intended for hemo rogues to do more damage, rather, our goal was to make the subtlety tree a viable alternative to combat and assassination. What resulted however, was not an increased number of subtlety rogues, but an increased number of rogues going just far enough down the subtlety tree to get hemorrhage.
We intend to tweak subtlety some more in upcoming patches, but ultimately won’t be able to flesh it out until Wrath of the Lich King. -Eyonix
2) We intend to improve subtlety so that the tree does serve as a viable alternative to combat and assassination. - Eyonix
3) Hemorrhage was intended to give heavy subtlety rogues some added damage, and to give the overall tree some additional appeal. Instead, many rogues just went down to the new hemo and ignored the rest. Our goal now is to make further improvements to the tree as a whole, so it has enough appeal and viability to compete with combat and assassination. Major changes will likely not come before the expansion, but we are looking in to more immediate tweaks as well. -Eyonix
4) When a class doesn’t feel it’s gaining anything when they spec deeper in a tree (to a 41 pt talent, for example), that is an issue. We tried to accomplish this for warriors with moving death wish to arms, by adding focused will to discipline, etc. The results can sometimes be mixed. There are definitely many more discipline priests now than a few patches ago, but not as many 41-pt talent arms warriors as there were before.
We want there to be more subtlety rogues, and we’re working to improve the tree. One way was to give the tree more damage, through hemorrhage. Unfortunately, that didn’t really improve the tree because everyone just stopped with the AR/Prep spec. What resulted was an increased power of the rogue class as a whole (not just the subtlety spec), which was unintended. -Eyonix
Sit Exploits by Raddy
If you haven’t been keeping up, Raddy is back and blogging again. Not as regular as before, but the man is back in the game.
Definitely check out his latest blog where he’s talking about all the wonderful /sit exploits… in the interest of full disclosure, fair play and the off chance that Blizzard will fix these ‘bugs’ faster if everyone is using/abusing them.
Here is a snippet:
“For all of these, make a macro that says: /sit /sit /sit
The Spell Reflect Exploit - Hit spell reflect and quickly hit your sit macro. You are immune to direct damage spells for 5 seconds. Cool bro.”
Head over to his blog for the rest.

Since I am not a huntard player myself I am kinda ignorant on that comment. I generally hear that huntards are OP. But those aremostly BM speced, whats the deal with the 41 point survival talent?

why break the sefulness of sub and then so “Dont worry were going to fix it in the expansion”
couldnt they have left ar/prep alone then till they can get round to fixing the damn tree?

41 pt survival talent is readiness (resets the cooldown on all spells)…I dont think there is any hunter ability with a cooldown that I would spec 41 pts to reset…and yea, if you can take it for pvp, great…but then you lose scatter shot.

B U L L S H I T!
Bring back ar prep IDC how many people cried about it. It’s especially bullshit that they lowed damage on hemo.
No matter how you spin it, you changed it cause it was popular!! Justify your nerfs
AR PREP owns becuase of skill. And people just couldnt handle that and took it to the forums. QQ more, maybe they could get them to wreck rogues even mor.

I’ve always wondered about this subject and I am happy to see that you covered it well. Could your advocate any other blogs to read that would have far more details on this topic? Thanks.
