News: Pandemic Dreamhack Champs
December 1st, 2007 by Magog ·

In a thrilling series that wrapped up the WoW competition at Dreamhack 2007, Team Pandemic beat MoB TurtleForce to capture the title. Coming back from the lower bracket due to an earlier loss, Pandemic had to win two best-of-five series over the upper bracket champs. With highly contested matches — both of the series were won 3-2 — featuring many tactical (some would say experimental) class switching between matches, some have called the grand finals the best yet on the competition stage.

Along with news that Gameriot has secured a tournament license from Blizzard, it looks like WoW’s ambitions as an eSport still has legs.

2007 Dreamhack WoW Prize Standings
1. Pandemic ($45,000)
2. MoB TurtleForce ($22,500)
3. MoB TurtlePower ($7500)

    Yay, Hamchook placed :D

Giving Pandemic their first and only national competition lost is a huge accomplishment. Good shit, TurtlePower.

  2. Zhonya Says:

If more of these tournaments are to come, TurtlePower will be unstoppable if they can run a counter comp to x2 rogue.

    Pandemic deserved the title.

They’re fucking amazing players, and that’s all that needs to be said.

if only a hunter was a more stable class and dealed with most classes even/fairly rather than being super strong against a few makeups and super weak against others.

That was a sweet loser bracket final match of pandemic vs fnatic. 8 minutes 37 seconds, and the entire fnatic team died at the same time.
