PTR 2.3.2 Surprises
November 22nd, 2007 by Magog ·
Quick note for some important class info: the first update to Patch 2.3 was put up earlier tonight, 2.3.2, and not without a few surprises. Most notably trainable Ice Block and a new talent for mages, and some buffage to all of the shaman elemental shields. Keep in mind that this is just a mini-patch, so it won’t take long to go live.
Read on for the PvP related notes. More updates on the changes to come…

- Warriors no longer lose rage when using a macro to enter a stance they’re already in.
Interesting. On MMO champion there was a blue-quote a few days ago stating a few bug fixes that were going to be changed in future patches, and this was one of them: “Warriors can shift into a stance they are already in with macros.”
Does this new information tell us that Warriors (and Druids) will be allowed to switch to same stance? I.e. It is not a bug to go from bear->bear and travel->travel. Hmmmmm..?

Hogart: Changing bear->bear isnt bug, it still removes all slowing effects and so on.

what about furor, ist it triggered?

Foguh: I don’t think you fully understand what I meant with my post. What is known, is that a few days ago (like I said) there was a blue post regarding bugs blizzard were going to fix in an upcomming patch. And listed among those bugs were “warriors ability to switch from a stance to the same stance through macros,” which also affect druids bear->bear switching. But now there is a new post saying that warriors will no longer lose rage when switching from one stance to the same.
This is a thing many ppl have been complaining about, druids ability to instashift to the same form to remove snares. Hence why blizzard probably listed it as a bug, and that is was going to be fixed.
But now Blizzard clearly states warriors will no longer lose rage from doing this switch. Equals druids will also no longer lose rage, which means they wont remove it, right?

Hogart: I don’t think you’re reading this right. This change fixes a bug where warriors switch into their own stance and lose rage and very likely will not affect bears at all because it’s a very different mechanic.
If a Warrior changes stances he can only take a talented maximum of 25 rage into the new stance. If a warrior can shift from his current stance into his current stance (say defensive to defensive) he’ll lose any additional rage just as if he had switched from one stance into another.
If a Druid uses a macro to cancel his aura, and jump back to bear immediately, he should dump any rage he had and gain furor when he enters bear form again. The rage should not just stick around.

Here’s hoping for warlocks to get some sort of a fear armor in 2.4!
Overpowered Armor Costs 10% base mana
10% chance to autocast a 3 second Fear when struck.
Lasts 10 minutes.

Geeez, I must be REALLY bad at explaining myself, and king of the jungle at at making a fool out of myself at the same time. GG, I’ll try again:
As I have already written, I read on MMO-Champion a few days back, quoting a blue post listing bugs that are meant to be fixed in a future patch. The one that cought my eye was this one:
- “Warriors can shift into a stance they are already in with macros.”
So I thought, “Oh, that’s not intended. Is it not intended that druids can do this either? After all, many ppl have been complaining about how imba etc it is, maybe druids should only be allowed to instashift from one form to another, and not also to the form they are already in (bear->bear snare removal).”
Get me this far? No? Fuck off! Yes? I bear to remove snares even in the future?
· How much of a retard did I make myself out to be? I would prefer a scale from 1-10 (10 = me being very very retarded)

And why isn’t it stated on the site that there is a max number of characters u can write in a reply? My post got totally shitfaced and owned in every possible way. Thx.
Bah..

Hogart: Druids cannot switch from Bear to Bear. What they do is Bear->Normal->Bear. However going from Bear to normal doesn’t trigger any global cooldown so this is done instantly.
It is not a bug.
The warrior however is able to go directly between stances as the do not have any ‘normal’ stance. And what happends at the moment if they in a macro try to switch to a stance they are already in they lose all rage (save 25 if they have talents).
That is a bug.
I hope you see the difference now.

The change is made for the ROS encounter where the boss burns the MT;s rage and deals dmg .
So alot of alliance tanks who were not used to stance - dancing are using macros to burn their rage.
Blizard fixed that

Druids are becoming overpowered
wait aren’t they already?
November 23rd, 2007 at 8:13 am
Awesome, now ice mages can cast 8 frost bolts to frozen targets in 10 seconds. That will be fair.
November 23rd, 2007 at 1:23 pm
Mages, seems nothing was wrong with them before.. ahwell still not as OP as a warlock so it must be ok
November 26th, 2007 at 7:40 am
Glad to see that Crusader Strike will work like something with that sort of name should. I’ll have 1100-non crits with my, gear, probably higher when I get my season 3 gear.

@11
Nope, druids are still weak and need some buffs.
