    awesome guys

  2. Entrails Says:

Haven’t listened to the podcast yet, but you should put timestamps on the different topics in this post so people can skip around easily.

Ziss: I would but there isn’t really any clear cut transition in to each topic, the kinda just lead to each other hehe…

  3. Entrails Says:

Good stuff. Schmity was a great guest speaker; knowledgeable and articulate.

Just want to say a couple things: I totally called rogue 2 healer set ups as the next trend in the meta game as a counter to 4 dps. :P Have to wait and see if it actually becomes more prolific in s3.

And Imo having PvE gear available to certain players who want/can invest the time required to get them is just bad for competition. I’d never seriously blame the players who use it, but I think Blizzard is messing up by making PvE gear remotely viable in arenas. Banning PvE gear is not practical or necessary, bliz just needs to:

    1. Implement gear swapping limitations that actually work

    2. Make sure the disadvantages of top of the line PvE gear in PvP severe enough that, regardless of class or group make up, top of the line PvP gear will be superior for general use in every slot available.

    3. Make sure the seasons are up to date with PvE progression instead of half a season behind, so weapons can stay on par.

I think the 2nd ring and trinket slot should be reserved for PvE (or last seasons pvp item), granting raiders a slight (VERY slight) advantage. But PvP gear should be obviously superior for arenas in every slot it’s available. I don’t mind asking for a time commitment, but make me commit the time in something I enjoy, not a largely unrelated and completely different part of the game. And the same should apply conversely, as far as using PvP/arena gear in raiding (which is already true to the extreme).

  4. Darkness Says:

  6. Mushya Says:

I loved the discussion of rogue vs warrior and how they will fair after the patch. As i to run a Rogue/Rogue CombatMace+Ar/prep team and have difficultys dealing with some warriors. I hope the next episode will be as enjoyable.

  7. sinning Says:

  8. Rixeh Says:

Your site seems to have become one of my regulars now, so im here at least once day, checked the podcast out last night, enjoyed it, keep up the good work guys and thanks

  9. shyst Says:

i’m really glad that this site is really taking off now. Any chance schmity will be a regular contributor to this site? I know neilyo signed on and that should make a rogues everywhere happy…but how come there is never info for warriors?! :P

  10. schmity Says:

There’s a decent chance of me being a regular around here.

  11. Soveur Says:

    Namishin > Schmity
At least back in the days.
    Soveur. Shattered Hand FTW

  12. Azreal Says:

I play on both Schmity’s 5s teams, and he’s bad. End of discussion.

  13. schmity Says:

Shattered Hand is a wasteland of bad with the exception of Relentless. The only thing Namishin did well was talk shit.

  14. Morgan Says:

Rouges rouges rouges, the magical toon, the eat the more they toot!! hmmmm As a warlock player i cant help but stay silent when people say they are OP hehe, but rouges are too!! =] Neil would agree im sure hehe

BTW i use this website from work because ITS NOT FILTERED with message boards, games or forums!

  15. Realiate Says:

I believe the podcast would be better without the music in the background. I had trouble hearing you guys talk for about half of it, and I had to replay it. Otherwise it was excellent and some good points were put across!

  16. Soveur Says:

Are you mad because Namishin owned you? Or do you hate on the server as a whole because Drama beat yall to the killing blow on Nef?

  17. Anonymous Says:

    Feedback!

    Topics Discussed: 4/5
Very good points, and entertaining throughout since I was curious about Rogues vs Warriors. However, it could explain arena terminologies as they come up for those new to Arena. After all, people come to pvpsource.com to learn.

    Clarity: 4/5
Breaky is one charismatic f*cker. Zhen was a bit harder to understand, but the lack of background noise cancels it out. Plus, it’s great to have such contrasting voices.

    Music: 2/5
Very appropriate, but as most radio sessions go, there should be none except for the beginning and the end. It was very distracting for listeners such as I, especially the background noise during Schmity’s parts.

    Length: 4/5
I love it, but it might be a good idea to have segments. In the beginning of the show, you could have the starting time of each segment mentioned.
Commercials and breaks could be room for tips, tricks, and advice!

    Overall: 3.5/5
I found this to be an excellent companion while doing my grind.

  18. Plagueis Says:

Hmm not working for me, when I try direct feed it just endlessly loads the page (I try refresh nothing) and the other RSS feed I click the link and nothing happens.

  19. Plagueis Says:

Nvm just took about 5-10 minutes to load, sorry.

  20. shyst Says:

    @schmity

assuming that warriors are considered top tier atm how do you think they will fare in S3? Will they remain dominant in 2s and 3s or will the changes in 2.3 drop them to maybe a solid upper middle tier?

personally i think war/druid and war/lock/druid will remain top tier while other war teams will probably see a drop in power.

  21. Runamuk Says:

Thought Schmity’s insight and knowledge was spot on hope to hear more from him in the future.

  22. Drulethen Says:

Here is the biggest problem I had with the opinions that were said.

It was stated that PVE gear should be able to be used in the PVP environment because you “earned them” or “put the time and effort in to get them.”

The problem with this argument is that PVP players who should have the MOST access to these kinds of items have NO possible route to get these items without raiding.
    ————————————————
I faced Schmity in the CGS semi-finals. We can these combo’s — Affliction warlock/Shadowpriest and Affliction Warlock/Resto Shaman.

When I faced him with my Shaman he put all of his T6 on and his armor reducing gear/weapon. I was killed literally within 10-15 seconds.

We decided to try the lock/priest combo to burn him. Lets just say that 300+SR means we were running around like chickens with our heads cut off.
    ————————————————-
Schmity is a perfect example that PVE’ers can be great at PVP. On the other side of the coin it is also a perfect example as to how PVE is still ruining the PVP environment with its ridiculous items.

Blizzard needs to find a way to allow PVP’ers to gear equally as good as PVE’ers or the Arenas will always be imbalanced in favor of the small minority of raiders who are “good” at pvp.

  23. Snitchers Says:

    I love this podcast.

  24. Magog Says:

“Blizzard needs to find a way to allow PVP’ers to gear equally as good as PVE’ers or the Arenas will always be imbalanced in favor of the small minority of raiders who are “good” at pvp.”

Blizzard had made some attempts to minimize scale-tipping PvE advantages. Nixing mid-match swapping of gear was put in to help deal with SR suits. And now for S3, to balance the PvE armor penetration gear, extra armor was added to all cloth and leather arena gear and armor penetration is now available to the PvP’ers.

“Tail wagging the dog” balancing for sure, but they are trying, I suppose.

  25. shyst Says:

    @22

i agree that you should not need to pve to pvp and to quite honest…Blizzard has come a long way since the days of raiders annihilating PUGs in BGs with T3.

  26. Drulethen Says:

Ultimately one thing we all have to remember is that this game caters PVE first and PVP second. Thats why things are the way they are.
