News: 2.3 PTR: New Cloaks, Trinkets, Relics, 4-pc Bonuses
October 12th, 2007 by Magog ·

2.3 PTR Elemental Shaman 4pc BonusThe S3 Arena pieces are nowhere to be found on the PTR, but we do have the PvP cloaks, trinkets and relics mentioned previously that require badges.

And as promised, several 4-piece bonuses on the arena gear have been changed. Some solid changes for Hunters, Druids, Mages and Shaman (click on image)… the Elemental Shaman 4-piece bonus is just jaw dropping.

Blizzard’s attempt is itemize for different specs is welcomed — especially for the hybrid players. The biggest downer looks to be the PvE cost of the items: many, many badges. For many PvP’ers, grinding out 130-150 more badges (25-30 Mech runs!) may be just a little too much PvE to stomach when previously the minimum required was 41 for the Icon/Brooch.

There is supposed to be a daily quest that gives 2-3 badges, and Karazhan and Zul’Aman bosses will drop badges as well — but that is still a lot of PvE.

Great, now I have to PvE for my PvP gear.

    Lame much?

  2. Critickle Says:

LOL 75 BADGES ROFL WHY DID THE TRINKET HAVE TO BE SO DAMN GOOD

  3. Dankh Says:

Starting farming for the badges now… and it won’t seem too bad.

  4. Gusty Says:

Hmmmm, let me see, lets make pvp items that require doing pve, blizzard has their heads so far up their ass they can’t see shit

  5. SkyPower Says:

The chain lighting grants resilience lol?

‘Great, now I have to PvE for my PvP gear.

    Lame much?’

Yes, its quite ironic isn’t it. Blizzard goes to the trouble of implementing personal rankings so that your average PvE Joe can’t spend a whole season just doing the minimal time in arena (10 games a weak, win/lose doesn’t matter) so that he/she can get a weapon they want to use in PvE. But, in the same patch, implements great PvP items that require PvEing. Hence, Blizzard doesn’t want people to farm PvP to get PvE gear, but doesn’t mind the fact that they actually want people to farm PvE to get PvP gear. Quite funny ay

But, uno, i still love blizzard :)

“Cruelty - Use: Increases maximum health by 1750 for 15 seconds”

This is helpful to a rogue how?

You buff ur health, at full health otherwise whats the point, so someone can heal you? And who would that be, your mother?

I don’t get this buff at all.

  8. bife Says:

It heals you for 1750 like the lifegiving gem and last stand do. After 15 secs the hitpoints are lost. It’s great to buy time for a heal.

  9. Phalen Says:

/GASP!!!! Blizz wants PvPers to experience more aspects of the game they have spent a lot of time creating than PvP?!?!? OMFG!!!

Seriously, The rating cap for arena wpns and shoulders just made it harder for PvEers to get, not impossible. The badge requirement is doing the same thing to PvPers. Oh and btw, the time it takes to get that many bagdes equals the time it takes for a casual, low rated person to get gear in the arena. Sounds fair to me.

    time to quite wow :)

I agree that lightning shamans should have this, but it should be nested in a talent they already take. As a hybrid ele-21/enhancement this is just awful. I have 4-gear for the shock crit and range boost, and everything else I have is built for AP and soon AP(.3) spell damage. LB is worthless to me, making my 4-armor bonus worthess. I want all my arena points back!
