2v2 Arena: Rogue & Holy Priest Explained, Part 1

Today’s focus is the start on a series of articles breaking down 2 versus 2 Arena match ups between Rogue partnered with Holy Priest against combos they are likely to face in high level play.
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
- Sun Tzu
Knowledge of yourself is important, as are knowledge of your opponents. It’s been a known fact for many decades and it still applies on anything competitive today. World of Warcraft Arena is no exception. In order to defeat a combo, you must first understand what they’re capable of doing and what tools you have to defeat them. As the articles will be very detailed, we will start off by talking about the strengths and weaknesses of the Rogue class.

Shamans in Arena, The True Hybrid Part 1

Before TBC came out for World of Warcraft, the Shaman class was very limited in its spec when it came to the scene of battlegrounds. Most specced enhancement, and just went around swinging their big two-handed weapons hoping for wind-fury procs, then screaming out “Oh my god, that wind-fury crit was insane” after walking up to a mage and dropping them in one swing. The few other shamans were specced restoration for pvp, and that was only because they had to be restoration if they wanted to raid at all. And Elemental shamans were few to be found, simply because mail gear did not add enough spell damage to make them effective. The shaman class was very limited and because of this, it became less popular.
Since TBC however, shamans have been able to choose from several valuable specs for both pvp and pve. Restoration brought some very nice pvp talents such as Nature’s Guardian and Enhancement introduced the use of duel-wielding on shamans and made it useful for pve raiding as well with talents such as Unleashed Rage. The third tree however, Elemental, was given the largest upgrade out the three, and as weeks passed since the release of TBC, more and more shamans began to realize this. Read More

Why World of Warcraft?

First off I would like to congratulate Blizzard on breaking the 9 million subscription mark for World of Warcraft. In my whole life as a competitive gamer, I have yet to see any game come even close to the caliber World of Warcraft currently stands for. This is one of the only games where you will find audience of all ages and type playing. I have heard so many cross-generation young gamers whose parents also plays, and I seen dozens of couples (married or not) playing together. One interesting fact is that you could walk in to a new job, and after getting known with your co-workers, you would actually find a good number of them also playing World of Warcraft. Read More

Complete Rogue Priest 2v2 Arena break down coming soon…

It’s been a crazy week for me looking for a new apartment to relocate to. If anyone told you otherwise about housing in the better parts of Bay Area besides absolute headache, then they have lied. Anyhow, a couple commentary videos has been added to site as promised, and as things settles down, I will add more videos on a more regular basis.
One of the huge guides I have been working on is a complete walk-through on beating each match up with the Rogue and Priest combo in 2v2 Arena. I will try my best to include commentary videos for each of the matches as well. My skills as commentator are still very limited so any constructive criticism is welcomed with open arms.
On a side note, we have added a couple more members to our team. Expect quality articles and commentary videos from them very soon.
